Political Scientist
I am a trained political scientist and studied at the Universities of Cologne and Vienna before completing my doctorate at the University of Giessen. I am currently employed in the EU-funded project G-EPIC: Gender Empowerment through Politics In Classrooms until September 2024. Besides, I was visiting postdoc at the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco in Recife, Brazil, from October 2023 to March 2024. I have a broad knowledge of quantitative data analysis, which I have applied in various research projects. I have strengthened my ability to conceptualize, plan, and execute projects through research and teaching projects.
I demonstrated my interpersonal and cultural skills at international conferences/workshops and, most recently, during a six-month stay abroad. These experiences in (international) teams have sharpened my ability to operate and contribute effectively in diverse environments. You find more information in my résumé.
Here I give you a brief overview of my previous employment and training.

As a research assistant at the Chair of Methods in Political Science, I have continuously taught in the Institute’s degree programs, focusing on the practical teaching of empirical social research in the BA program in Social Sciences.
My interest in education is reflected in my experience training and supervising students (e.g., on final-year projects). My teaching roles have equipped me to impart knowledge successfully, prepare and present complex content effectively, guide discussions, and provide constructive feedback to facilitate learning.
In teaching, I have always developed courses further and designed, developed, and implemented several web-based training courses as larger teaching projects. In these projects, I set the planning and implementation as project manager and supervised and managed student assistants.
In addition, I have created several learning videos on statistics and its application in R for the Justus-Liebig-University and the FernUniversität Hagen over the last few years.
In application-oriented courses, I have always emphasized integrating project/collaboration tools (such as Git) and, for example, enabling automated checks of code submissions via Git (see CI project below).

Here you find an overview of courses and workshops I have taught so far. Courses were taught in title language.
My research interests lie in political socialization and political attitude/support research. Below, you will find an overview of the research projects.
In smaller and more extensive research projects, I developed my skills in planning and organizing projects and discovering and consolidating my strength in team collaboration. In addition, I steadily expanded my skills in the application and evaluation of quantitative data analysis.
One of my strengths lies in understanding large amounts of information, a crucial skill in my research endeavors. I specialize in distilling complex information into meaningful insights, enabling a deeper understanding of the topics under discussion.
With Michael Hunklinger, I deal with the effects on the voting behavior of LGBTIQ*. In particular, we are investigating how group-specific attitudes impact voting decisions and participation behavior.
In my doctoral thesis, I dealt intensively with the theoretical conditions of the different levels of political support in the field of political support research in the context of consolidated democracies in Central and Eastern Europe. I examined these possible interactions, taking economic effects into account.
Here you find a quick overview of important areas of my professional career. You can find a more comprehensive overview in my academic CV: EN, PT, DE.
During my academic activities, I have given international scientific presentations, as well as public lectures in which I presented scientific content/problems to a wider audience. Furthermore, I published part of my work internationaly. In particular, I expanded my interpersonal and cultural skills at conferences and stays abroad.
